preliminaries

O.K. When everything has gone to S**t then you have to get you S**t  together.  I have to at least do SOME prep for the first photograph. When you have fallen apart the simplest things you don't even care about like shaving your legs for God's sake and getting your hair in some sort of order and getting your  wardrobe (not really a wardrobe because I haven't bought any clothes in a couple of years) together in some way. I am going to buy some good moisturizer for my face and body today as a I am as dry as dirt.
Three of my many guilty pleasures are wine, sugar and diet coke. ALL gone for one year minimum. Yikes! What have I gotten myself into?
Talk to you tomorrow for day 1 of "The reinvention of Lynne Godfrey"

Sybil

My post tonight I titled "Sybil" because, remember, she had 6 personalities and sometimes I feel like that. I can never just do one thing and of course I can't just blog about one thing either. I am going to do what I said and continue with my critique of the women celebs and how they, in my opinion would have more style if they.... I am also going to be dishing out my medicine for good style on a regular basis. So, the poop and praise will stay and doctor of style will stay but I was thinking.
The reason I started this blog was because I had a severe melt down recently and thought diving in and learning about this social media would take my mind off things. My sportswear and fashion business has been suffering badly for some time now. It seems to be the perfect storm in our area. I decided after eating and drinking for a month and being a total wreck, that I was, at 61 going to pick myself up, dust myself off and start all over again. I thought it would be fun to blog about that process. So, on Tuesday the Feb 1st/11, I am going to begin again and try to bring myself back to my former glory and beyond. If I don't, well then, it would have been therapeutic if nothing else but I have confidence I can do it. I will video and photograph the whole thing. It will really all center on my style as I think style is so important to  who you  and I  really are. I hope you will come along with me on my journey!
Now the women celebs. Barbra Streisand
It's funny because I think Diane Keaton, who is a style winner, needs to, for a change, be less structured and just the opposite is true for Barbra. She could take a few tips from Diane as in these two photos

But I think Diane could drop the structured cover up for one more like this sari look. She could, with her  sense of style, figure out a new take on it I think

Meg Ryan. Yikes!! I am too tired to tackle this one tonight heehee!!

Talk to you all(if there is anyone out there?) tomorrow O.K.

johnny depp

Just wanted to finish the last post with Johnny Depp images of before and after with the Ed Westwick look mentioned that I would like better for Johnny Depp, if I had MY way!
Now                                             After

celebrities poop and praise continued

Just for fun because I know everything about style instead of just saying what's wrong with these celebs style at the moment I might as well suggest a change right.Johnny Depp, what about this http://www.vogue.co.uk/celebrity-photos/100113-best-dressed-men-2010/gallery.aspx#/imageno/2 Ed Westwick's look here. I think Johnny Depp would look great with this cleaner look

Alec Baldwin What can I say!! Lose some weight. I have to lose 10lbs again too so let's do it together in Feb O.K. Perfect.

Al Pacino, don't think th poofy hair is sophisticated enough.

David Letterman. Come on Dave enough already with the white socks. It's not the absolute worst here, but? It's not too bad here!!

And finally for this entry David Bowie. What a disappointment. He has gone from this

to basically a guy in a suit. What happened to you and your fantastic style. Maybe if I were around him more I wouldn't think so but??

Whew, I am pooped. I will tackle the women tomorrow. Nighty Night? Comments please!

slamming and praising celebrity style

O.K. so let's get to it. I said I was going to be deliberate and post every day even if all thoughts are to be continued. So,the celebrities, I will poop and praise each blog in some way just cause we all know them from media. This today is just to give you an idea what I like and don't like. They can take it. They are all rich and famous and certainly don't care about this blog even though they don't realize, I know everything there is to know about style.Of course this my opinion. Do you want the bad news first or the good news. O.K. bad news for Johnny Depp.Change the facial hair and lose the hat for god's sake. Alec Baldwin.Lose some weight. You are gorgeous.Al Pacino.Whats with the poofy hair?? I hate it. David Letterman, love him, hate the style. Doesn't do him justice at all! David Bowie whom I adored and have designed a line for, sold out.Barbara Streisand. What the heck is going on there? I love you but terrible style! Meryl Streep could do so much better. Her classic looks are so boring. Who are these stylists for god's sake. They are the bad ones. Diane Keaton. So sick of the structured (hide me) clothes. You can do the cover up thing but why not try silk or chiffon or some indian sari fabrics for a change. Meg Ryan, pathetic style. Angelina Jolie, way too skinny now. Lady Gaga. To me it's great effect but more costume than style. I can't figure out her style quite yet.
O.K. better get on to some of the good! Heath Leger OMG! I hate that he is gone. Justin Beiber , really good, so fresh(very choreographed though). Maybe not his own?) Jeff Bridges, Keith Richards. These, I like but stay tuned, I need to work on the men. To me Kate Moss still rocks as does Taylor Swift, Stella Tennant, Tilda Swinton(very androgynous but cool). Unlike Piers Morgan I still love Madonna. I have so much more coming tomorrow. I will try over the weeks to get organized in a regular way but right now I am just going to free form for awhile. Comments?

first post 12:20am Jan27th

This blog is the starting point for discussion about style/fashion, great style as well as really bad style .I will be ranting about things I feel are necessary to possess style and why I think most miss the mark. I don't mind criticism. I love it. Beware, though, I am almost always right so you had better make your point well.
I hope this is as fun for you as I know it will be for me.
This blog will celebrate style and hopefully add a bit to the conversation. Enjoy!
