Why is "pulling off" short hair so tough!! Coming today!

Along with the " pulling off short hair" challenge, we are going to tackle cosmetic surgery. I need a f**king face lift. Be honest. I am going to see if they take payments over the course of a  YEAR  hee hee!! I am going in May to start my research. I will keep you posted. Being 61 is definitely a challenge!

The real beauty of the young Elizabeth Taylor

What was it about Elizabeth Taylor that made her so stunning? How did her sense of style contribute to this beauty? She was a lovely child but developed into  this extraordinary iconic beauty.

What a beauty! Tough to go wrong here. Look: there are those bushy eyebrows again. They are simply a must to great beauty, it seems. She had violet eyes, if you can imagine and the beauty spot even at that young age. So simple in those days. Not overdone in any way.

Have you ever seen anyone so gorgeous with short hair. I love short hair so much and Elizabeth shows us why you can be extraordinary with short hair. Again, simplicity is the key. She works the eyes to the hilt and great earrings but no other jewelry and not too much other makeup. I adore how she looks here.

I just find it impossible to find a flaw. Look at that face. Her style was her simplicity. She worked the gorgeous assets like the eyes and brows and lips and didn't clutter anything up, ever. She had it goin on!! Simply beautiful!

I HATE MY HAIR!!

 Have I said that before? I swear, when you have an even kinda short cut you have to maintain it every six weeks with just a trim or it goes south. I have to get mine done asap. The style is heavy and thick again. Because I get so fed up, I sometimes hack at it which only makes it worse. Good God, it's tough to be good lookin !! Hee Hee!! That's what my handsome dad always used to say. Made me laugh. I have to wear a hat now to hide my hack job.
 Good Lord! My weight has stalled and I got the flu from trying to lose too quickly so it's going to take me forever to get this 12 lbs off. Darn! This reinvention is going to take time. Yikes!

The Face of Smoking

I think the face of smoking should rightly be this. He has aged years before our very eyes because of many factors, not the least of which is smoking. His looks have faded alarmingly quickly.

and not  this. Kate Moss is one of my style ICONS but this is just too much. There is absolutely nothing glamorous or stylish about smoking, anymore. Maybe back in the day but not now, knowing what we know. It is just an ignorant thing to be doing.

I am totally ashamed of the fashion industry when they parade top models on the runways of Paris and New York, smoking their faces off when it does so much damage and we know the damage and still they promote it. It's disgusting and makes me CRAZY!!

Is wearing what could be considered a costume, style?

I'm not sure that it is to be perfectly honest. That is a difficult one because some of the most talented in the fashion world have evolved into icons and wear the same costume all the time as it is their brand image. I am not sure I know how to define this yet but I will. There   is a very fine line sometimes as I will show you. One of the most stylish people I have seen in my lifetime so far is Jackie Kennedy . She could move from casual to the most high fashion effortlessly.                                                                                                  

It doesn't hurt to be given such extraordinary beauty but none the less, she then, took style to a whole different level for the times. Notice the eyebrows. Remember, if you have them, flaunt them this season, O.K.   I am pooped so will continue tomorrow. Would love your comments. Sorry for not posting!! I have been sick, boo hoo!

Let's just finish up the "Don Cherry" moment, shall we. I have decided with Don and a few others that this is his style but rather than style I would consider it more a costume. It is exaggerated style to the point of becoming something else. So I think this may be leading to more about what is style and what is costume and is a costume style? What do you think? I will continue with next post tonight, I promise!

I was just thinking about Karl Lagerfeld who is the high priest of fashion. Does he dress in a costume?

Summary of "Dos and Don'ts" when wearing cowboy boots

DON'T  wear cowboy boots over jeans unless they are short and jeans are tight and you have thin legs. This first picture is good for those reasons and this next couple are bad for same reason

COWBOYS BOOTS HAVE A "ROCK VIBE"

This is exactly what I showed you in my last post. Russel Brand has his slim pants over his boots!! This is just exactly right. It's a little trash with a lot of class= super cool

 So, here I am, just a second ago, with the same look. It has a definite "rocker" vibe, that I love. This is very different from the "girlie" look in the first post, that Taylor Swift does so well, with her boots. It is just as great, but different than this. This  is one of MY favorite ways to dress.
 By the way, as far as the "reinvention of Lynne Godfrey" goes, 5 lbs GONE! It took a month, but eventually that stubborn weight started to go. I have 7lbs more to ideal weight. I will tell you what that is when I get there.
  The cowboy fashion is going to be huge moving forward, so better watch these cowboy boot posts, hee hee!! Comments welcome!  Later

2nd way to Rock Cowboy Boots plus tips on looking "Cool" in them.

 I was in Europe of all places buying a fabulous line of skiwear for my shop and in the showroom, the coolest people were wearing their cowboy boots with very tight jeans and tights of all different kinds and their boots were inside, not outside their pants. It was the best, as I always loved cowboy boots but didn't like the look over jeans. So here's the secret!

Step1. Pull the tight pants or tights up above the boots

 Step 2. Fold the boots over. They may be stiff at first but will loosen up over time.

 Step 3. Pull the tights over the boots while keeping them folded

                                                     Finished and in the "Cool" zone now!!

 No one Rocks Cowboy Boots quite like these two. Notice that Taylor Swift usually wears short dresses
with her boots and it is the "coolest" because it is very girly but core at the same time. She really gets it.
 She is  VERY classy where style is concerned.  Traditional cowboy boots don't look good over jeans.   This is a bit on the trashy side

 If you are going to wear cowboy boots over jeans there are two ways. The first, as Kate Moss shows us brilliantly, is to make sure they are short boots. She is short so she does that naturally but it looks much better than with the high boots. The jeans also must tight and not bag over the boots at all. This is nasty.

Shocking Video of John Galliano's anti semetic remarks

I just couldn't believe it and to think this could have gone unreported without the social media of today. This is a good application. I am proud of Dior for firing him and not making excuses for this behavior. What a slimy little sucker huh? Many of the stars at the Oscars including Nicole Kidman and Sharon Stone were wearing Dior. I am sure neither knew of this latest video. Hard to believe there is still such hate in the hearts of some isn't it.
