Kate Moss. What an extraordinary beauty! What are her secrets? There is more to it than beauty, which she has in spades. What do you think?

Make Up
Less is more with regards to foundation. Like I said Pamela Anderson is gorgeous and she does the more thing on purpose. Even she goes a bit too far and looks too trashy sometimes
A little trash goes a long way!
The biggest culprit is foundation. Most of it is way too thick and unless you are on tv or in front of cameras, it is "masky" in real life. It is extremely aging and compounds the aging process. Less is more when it comes to foundation and one that is a tinted moisturizer and not just cover is best. I love @bobbybrown myself

I know, get blogging! Coming up! Too much makeup. How to know.
I LOVE Pamela Anderson and she wears too much make and gets away with it. Good example though of what to watch for. She does it on purpose so it's O.K.

Rocky Mountain Featherbed and the history of my style
You would not believe what I did to get this line in 1978. It was then owned by a great guy named Cub Schaefer from Jackson Hole, Wyoming. One of his staff, visiting, was in my shop and was wearing one of the vests. I told him if he would help me get the line into the shop, I would give him the hiking boots that he wanted, free. He accepted and the rest was history. It was, along with North Face and Patagonia(Great Pacific Ironworks, in those days) one of my most popular tech lines. It also crossed over into the fashion side which was where I was headed with my buying. It was perfect! It was quintessential cowboy, no?
It is now owned by a Japanese company. Wonder what Cub is up to these days?

Stephen Sprouse
I was there at "Area" club and bought the line at his New York studio. It was completely silver, the walls, the ceiling, the floor, the desk, everything on the desk the pictures on the walls. It was wild and so cool. I was the only store in Canada to sell the line at the time.

Wonder why I love fashion ? part 2
Can you believe these adorable clothes. I am just amazed myself. O.K. I know, enough with the baby pictures. I think though, it is important to my history of fashion to see how early the love affair with fashion began
I won this doll carriage parade. Lilly went nuts on these competitions. The beauty pageants of the 50's, hee hee!
One more I promise. I am just fascinated is all. Ho Hum, just out in the yard playing in my blazer, tartan skirt and patent leather shoes. Dear God in heaven. It's hard to believe it's me. Seems like a different life.
nighty night!
Can you believe the swimming costume with the swim cap and all? This was in the back yard playing!

A heady time! My history in fashion
This article is about another of my all time favorites, Vivienne Westwood, but talks about "Parachute", the clothing I was wearing in my last post. It was the IT thing in 1984 and I had it. It was a heady time. I went to the New York showrooms of both to do the buying. Parachute had a huge store on Wooster St in Soho. It was so amazing and so exciting to have an appointment with Nicola to do my buying either in New York or Montreal. The nightclub Limelight that Vivienne frequented was the one I could tell amazing stories about. I had never seen anything like the going's on in that club. It was WILD beyond belief.
This is Vivienne Westwood speaking
"When I moved to New York City in 1984, I’d just missed the heyday of the Mudd Club and, although CBGB’s was still going strong, we FIT students were strident devotees of Danceteria and Limelight. Music and fashion were transitioning from aggressive punk and New Wave into the more commercial and poppy MTV-ruled era of Prince, Madonna and Boy George. Harry Parnass and Nicola Pelly’s voluminous Parachute line and Stephen Sprouse’s Day-Glo graffiti-inspired looks ruled the day, but the ’80s wouldn’t have been the same without Vivienne Westwood. Westwood and Malcolm McLaren built their reputation with wild punk-inspired styles in the mid-1970s, but she didn’t gain wider recognition until 1985 when the couple and design duo split up."
This is Vivienne Westwood today.
I think I have a picture of me in Stephen Sprouse. I am going to find it and will post it.

Moi, a few years back, in Parachute!
These clothes were amazing, designed by Nicola Pelly and Harry Parness. I wonder where they are today? I must do some research on that. There were only a few shops in North America that sold these clothes and I am proud to have been one of them. I wish I had been more like my mum and saved everything. I am thankful I took photos, at least. A hoarder I am not!!
Me in Neto Leather, another great line I carried
"O.K. that's enough about me. Let's talk about you. What do you think of me?" Bette Midler in "Beaches". That's one of my favorite lines of all time. Another is and I paraphrase"the only thing that
allows evil to flourish, is good men doing nothing" I'll tackle Palin tomorrow O.K. Nighty Night!

"Parachute" around 1980
At work in" Parachute", early 80's.What great clothes these really were. The pair of designers who owned Parachute were unique. Nicole Pelly was a visionary and fearless designer. Her partner and (I think husband) Harry Parness had been an architect and brought that structural knowledge to the designs creating extraordinary pieces
